Why You May Want To Hire A Security Team With Sniffer Dogs For Your Event

by Violet Perry

Since canines have many more receptors in their noses than humans, they are able to pick up on more scents, even when they are just barely there. To fully understand why this would be a benefit to you at an event you are holding, you will want to keep reading.

You Can Keep Drugs Out

No matter what type of event you are holding, if you do not want drugs to be used, distributed, or simply in someone's pocket while they are on your property, you will want to do everything you can to deter people from bringing any illegal substances with them. You can make it known through announcements or writing that all drugs are prohibited on the property. However, if you suspect that there will be a handful of people that are going to try to sneak their drugs in with them regardless of what you have said, you will want to consider using sniffer dogs. The sniffer dogs will be led around by their trained professional handlers. Should one of the dogs detect the smell of a drug, it will alert its handler.

It Deters Some Criminals

The sheer sight of sniffer dogs walking around your venue can be enough to keep some criminals from simply wanting to attend your event. This is because they tend to fear that the dog will pick up a bad scent on them or that they could somehow be discovered and arrested if they have warrants out for their arrest. Basically, criminals and trained canines have a reputation for being on opposite sides of the law and the criminals tend to want to stay away.

It Gives Guests A Sense Of Security

If your event is a high profile one, you might find that some of your guests are going to be a little worried about their safety, especially with a lot of the things that are shown on the news. By having trained handlers walk their dog sniffers around, some of your guests may automatically feel a little more secure. And when they feel secure, they are going to be able to relax a little more and really enjoy themselves like they wanted to do since they arrived.

Just make sure that you are taking the time to find a reputable company that provides both the dogs and the handlers. After all, only those who are specifically trained to handle these dogs should be doing so.
